Karim Benzema is from Lyon, the third largest city in France. He was born on December 19th, 1987, to Hafid Benzema (his father) and Wahida Djebbara (His mother). His grandfather, Da Lekhal Benzema, lived in the northern Algerian city of Est Jalil in Tigzirt before moving to Lyon in 1950.
