In his second year at the club, Garnacho played for the Under-18s and U-23s. He made his mark in the FA Youth Cup when he scored seven goals in six games, five of which were played at Old Trafford.
As United advanced in the competition, more and more fans showed up, inspiring Garnacho and his teammates to greater heights. The final was played at Old Trafford in front of a record-setting crowd of 67,000 people; Garnacho scored twice in the 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.

In May 2022, he was honored as the FA Youth Cup and Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year winner. He had debuted with the first squad a month earlier, at the tender age of seventeen.

Garnacho was selected for the senior Argentina team on March 7, 2022, as part of a 44-man roster for their two World Cup qualifiers that month. He was included in the 33-person final squad for the matches but didn’t play in either game.

On March 26, 2022, Garnacho began playing for the Argentina under-20 team in a friendly match against the United States.
