Camavinga was born on November 10, 2002, to Congolese parents Sofia and Celestino. His parents were from Brazzaville. Camavinga was born at a refugee camp in Cabinda, Angola.

Stade Rennes
Camavinga began his football career at Stade Rennes. He joined Rennes youth second team when he was 11.
The French player became the club’s youngest professional player when he signed his first professional deal on December 14, 2018, at 16 and one month old. He made his professional debut for Rennes on April 6, 2019, in a 3–3 draw with Angers in Ligue 1. At 16 years and six months old, he was the youngest player to ever play for Rennes’ first team.
